Barbara Hall

Diversity, Acceptance, Rights

Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission,

Tracing the circuitous route to her present position, Barbara Hall, Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human rights Commission, fondly recalls her role of Mayor of Toronto. Talking duties, development, and mistaken identities, she describes a day in the life of an elected official. Her current role at the Ontario Human Rights Commission steers the conversation towards issues of discrimination and the roles of both the Tribunal and the Commission.  Sharing real examples Barbara Hall discusses the variety of issues brought to them as well as the ones they seek out, and how these issues are addressed. With the Ontario Human Rights Commission celebrating 50 years, she takes a look back at what has been accomplished, and looks forward to what is left to be done.
