Great Work Essentials: Courage

Syndicated from: Box of Crayons

Photo Credit: ClickFlashPhotos / Nicki Varkevisser via Compfight Let’s jump into this, shall we? We’re talking the three Great Work Essentials, and we’ve already looked at Focus. The second element of what’s necesary to do more Great Work is Courage. Because it’s one thing to know who you are and what your Great Work might be, and another thing altogether to start doing it. Courage is knowing not everyone will be happy. Courage fades when you put yourself last on the “who matters” list. Courage is asking for help. Courage fades when you try and do it by yourself. Courage is knowing you’ll be giving something up. Courage fades when you just try and get everything else done before you start. Courage is knowing that the story will end somehow – and you’ll likely find good in it. Courage fades when you need to know exactly how the story ends.   How do you keep your courage strong? (This little piece on courageous leadership might give you some other ideas.)
