Looking for Survey Volunteers

Syndicated from: Daily Bread Food Bank

‘…poverty can hit at anytime, anywhere. That’s what I learned. It never fails. Every time I go there (to a food bank as a survey volunteer), I learn something about life. My teachers are there; right there in front of me.’ - Francine Robitaille, Survey volunteer People may volunteer at a food bank as a way of ‘giving back’ to the community, or doing their part in helping others – admirable reasons that Daily Bread deeply appreciates. In fact, volunteers are the foundation of Daily Bread Food Bank, and we cannot do what we do without their help. Becoming a survey volunteer in Research and Communications is one way of giving back, and in taking part in the fight against hunger. Francine has experienced that being a survey volunteer has opened the door for unique and eye-opening learning experiences. We can learn much from food bank clients, who have much to offer, if our ears are open. Francine created the following video about her experiences: When: February to mid-April, 2012, in 2-3 hour shifts. Hours vary according to your schedule. Where: In more than 50 food banks across the GTA. Who: You! If you are over 19 years old and fluent in English. A special need exists for volunteers who speak any additional language.
